The Great Alberta Hockey Pool is back and bigger than ever, with thousands in cash prizes available as well as a chance to win up to $50,000!

We’ve partnered with Oil City Signs and Surface Transformation for this year’s pool, which will be running all over Alberta from the start of the regular season to the final game.

It’s easy to sign up and easy to play – just CLICK HERE to register, then when the NHL regular season starts on Oct. 4, make your picks for who will win each game for the coming weekend. It’s that simple!

Sign up before the start of the regular season Oct. 4 for your chance to win $500 cash in the early bird registration draw!

There’s a $100 cash prize every week for the person with the most correct picks, and a $1,000 cash prize three times during the season. Get all the picks right and you can win all 3 – or if you have a rough spot during the first period, you get a fresh start!

New this year is the $50,000 SHOOT TO WIN contest. Every entrant in the pool is automatically entered to win a chance to shoot a puck from center ice next April when the regular season wraps up. If you score, you win $50,000!

You can also win bonus SHOOT TO WIN entries throughout the contest by:

  • Signing up as an early bird (before Oct. 4);
  • Signing up for the The Puck Drops Here email newsletter;
  • Signing up for a Daily Headlines email newsletter from your local Great West Media publication;
  • Placing in the top 10 finishers each week;
  • Placing in the top 10 finishers at the end of the first, second or third period;
  • Winning the first, second or third periods (10 bonus entries each);

Watch for additional opportunities for bonus entries in our twice-weekly The Puck Drops Here email newsletter!
