A photo-map circulating online of the Jasper, Alberta townsite is not an official incident map according to Jasper National Park ‘X’ posts.
In the same post, Jasper National Park explains that the photo-map “was a hastily drawn operational map used by structural protection to identify areas to focus their response efforts.”
The map is not representative of any specific damage, severity, structure, or individual area affected by wildfires.
In another post, Jasper National Park said “as noted in our 10:30 am update, the accuracy of this information is critical because it directly impacts community members. We will share more information as soon as we can ensure its accuracy.”
