A lone male has been arrested following a multiple stabbing incident in Airdrie.
According to police, on December 28, 2024, at approximately 12: 55 a.m., the Airdrie RCMP was dispatched to the North West Area of Airdrie, near Williamstown, for a report of multiple stabbings. With the assistance of Calgary Police Service Hawks helicopter, Airdrie RCMP successfully located one male suspect. The suspect was arrested near the scene without incident.
As a result of the incident, three victims were identified, two of which are young persons. All victims were immediately transported via Alberta Health Services ground ambulance to the hospital. Two victims are in serious, but stable condition. The third victim remains in hospital, and is being treated for none life-threatening injuries related to the incident.
The lone male arrested remains in police custody, and is facing charges of:
- Aggravated assault x3
- Assault with a weapon x3
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x1
- Carrying concealed weapon x1
This is an isolated incident, and there is no fear for public safety at this time. This is an active and ongoing investigation, any further information pertaining to the investigation will be updated accordingly.
