Drugs and firearms seized from Saddle Lake residence

SADDLE LAKE - RCMP say they seized about 100 grams of crystal meth and 60 grams of cocaine from a residence in Saddle Lake while executing a search warrant.

Saddle Lake RCMP, along with St. Paul RCMP and RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) members, executed the search warrant at a residence in Saddle Lake on Wednesday.

"During the search, a large amount of controlled substances as well as large quantities of ammunition and other weapons were seized," according to RCMP.

Items seized include a quantity of crystal meth with a street value of about $5,000, cocaine with a street value of about $4,400, three semi-automatic rifles, one handgun, ammunition, "a large quantity of other various weapons," and about $2,000 in Canadian currency.

One man was arrested and charged.

Darin Riel Moses, 44, a resident of Saddle Lake was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, weapons possession contrary to order, unauthorized possession of a firearm, tampering with the serial number of a firearm, illegal possession of trafficking in government documents, and more.

Moses was held for a judicial interim release hearing and was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 27.
