Airdrie RCMP are advising that road conditions are extremely poor, as they respond to multiple collision on Highway 2 north of Calgary. RCMP report the southbound lanes of Highway 2, between Highway 564 and Balzac are blocked, and traffic is at a standstill, due to multiple collisions in the area.
The roadways are icy and visibility is very poor, with white-out conditions.
Motorists are asked to avoid travel if possible. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada, as well as Alberta 511 for updates to highway and road conditions.
No injuries have been reported.
