Water treatment issue fixed in High River, cause of problem unknown

Water treatment issues in High River have been fixed, after being announced earlier in the day, the Town said on Oct. 1.

Residents in High River can use water normally, after an incident impacted the Town’s water treatment plant this afternoon.

On Oct. 1, residents were asked to avoid unnecessary water use and to conserve water where possible due to issues at the water treatment building.

The Town later said the incident was resolved and that residents can return to regular water use.

An incident command post set up during the incident has been deactivated, the Town said.

People in Cayley and Aldersyde were also asked to reduce their water use during the incident.

No information was provided about the cause of the incident or how it was resolved.
