A driver was killed and the other seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision outside of Neerlandia, about 150 kilometres northwest, on Sunday, Oct. 13.

He added that the driver of the SUV was declared deceased at the scene and that medical examiner officials are still working on identifying the individual so they can notify the next of kin, noting the vehicle caught on fire after the collision.

No other individuals were in the vehicles.

Hack said the driver of the pickup truck emergency medical service personnel to a hospital in the city for surgery and is now in recovery.

He added that STARS Air Ambulance had been dispatched to the scene, but it was diverted on route to a higher priority call.
