Suspect evades Lac La Biche police, stolen property recovered

RCMP released these photos of suspected stolen property in hopes of finding owners.

LAC LA BICHE – RCMP arrived on scene at a property in Beaver Lake July 29 looking for a man wanted for outstanding Criminal Code warrants and got more than they bargained for. While police report the man fled the scene in a stolen vehicle and was able to evade arrest, RCMP were able to recover thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen property from the site.

According to an RCMP media release, multiple items suspected to have been stolen were observed on the property which resulted in an RCMP executed search. Approximately $250,000 worth of items were recovered at the site, including seven vehicles, three trailers, six ATVs, three motorcycles, a skid steer and multiple generators, welders and pumps.

At this time, 11 of the items seized have been confirmed as stolen property from across eastern Alberta and the owners have been notified of their recovery, according to the RCMP release.

“RCMP are releasing photos of additional property recovered in hopes of returning it to their rightful owners. Lac La Biche RCMP are requesting you provide proof of ownership for return.”

 The Lac La Biche RCMP investigation is still ongoing, and charges are currently pending for the suspect with an update expected at a later date.
